The Red Fort, which is also recognized as the Lal Qila, was built by one of the most well-known Mughal emperors, Shah Jahan. Constructed on the banks of the river Yamuna, the fortress-palace was planned by architect Ustad Ahmad Lahauri. It took 8 years and 10 months to build the brilliant fort. The fort was attended as the royal residence of the Mughal emperors from 1648 to 1857.

It took over the honor of royal residence from the well-known Agra Fort when Shah Jahan decided to shift his capital from Agra to Delhi. The Red Fort originates its name from the red-sandstone walls, which make the fort almost impregnable.

The fort, which is located at Old Delhi, is one of the enormous and prominent structures of India and is a fine example of Mughal architecture. It is repeatedly considered as the pinnacle of Mughal creativity.

The majority of these tunnels were designed by kind and noble rulers between the second and eleventh centuries after the Common Era. Ellora is home to 34 caverns or viharas carved out amid the sixth and eleventh centuries of the Common Era. At Ajanta, located approximately 99 kilometers north of Aurangabad, 29 caverns were clearly designed to be used as a place of residence by Buddhist monks.

Even if it is located 15 kilometers to the west of Aurangabad, Ellora is home to many religious landmarks. These include Hindu, Buddhist and Jain sites.
